Dawn (our 6th Child), Jason, Ethan and McKay came out to visit us during their Fall Break in Oct. It was great to have them come and visit us. Now, all 6 of our children and their families have come out to Missouri to visit us while we have been on our Mission.
It was fun having Dawn's family here and showing them around to some of our favorite spots. Their first day we did our very favorite, the Church History Sites.
The Eight Witnesses Monument
The Historic Liberty Jail
We just finished celebrating 50 years since the Church dedicated the recreation on the Liberty Jail.
We had a wonderful two days full of activities, culminating with a Fireside with Elder Ballard
Far West is another Consecrated and Holy Land in which we visited the Temple Site that was dedicated there.
While still in Far West, Ethan, McKay and Grandpa had a chance to take a picture with Joseph Smith.
Our Very favorite place to visit is Adam-ondi-Ahman!

Hallmark Visitor Center
The next day we started out at Hallmark Visitor Center. It is always a fun place to visit.
I don't think I took one "normal" picture at Hallmark! I don't know where they come up with all those faces!
From Hallmark in Crown Center, we walked over to the Union Pacific Railroad Station, which has been wonderfully refurbished. They also have a model train area which we had not visited before.
Since we were in the train mode, we decided to have lunch at Fritz's. It is a restaurant that serves your meal by model train that runs close to the ceiling of the restaurant. We were seated and asked to call in our order with the phone at our table. We then waited to have the train deliver our meal. It was packed and we had to wait in line to be seated, but it was worth it. Their specialties are hamburgers.
We even received our own hats!
Next we went to the Money Museum. McKay is standing in front of 40 Million $1.00 bills. He seemed real comfortable there!
They also designed their own bills. Ethan decided more was better!
The Country Club Plaza Shopping Area was a visit on another day. It was nice weather, but cold.
Jason, Dawn and Ethen took a beautiful walk along the creek bank. Two gondolas are docked there.
We have yet to see them being used on the water.
While they were walking, getting their exercise, McKay and Grandpa were having fun with all the statures you can find at The Plaza
We then took our chances at Oklahoma Joe's Barbecue, which is said to be the best barbecue food in Missouri, AND, which is served at a gas station. It is good, but I think we waited around two hours before we were seated with our food. The line was clear out the door and then wound around inside before you could even order. I'm not sure that I would wait that long again.
Two hours later! We made it!
Steamboat Arabia
Is another one of our favorite places to visit. I have blog about this unique steamboat before, so I won't repeat myself to much. This Steamboat sunk in 1856 and now, over 150 years later, all of it's cargo is being restored.
Where did he come from? Oh, that is Ethan!
Fort Osage
Our last adventure was to Fort Osage, which we had not visited before. We were just waiting for some Grandsons to visit us so we could take them to this fort.
Fort Osage functioned as one of the first military outposts and government trade houses in the Louisiana Purchase. It was first built in 1808, but what we visited is a reconstruction of this historic Fort.
It is located on the Missouri River. We enjoyed our visit.
I started this post the first part of November, but just didn't get back to it until now. Busy as a Missionary should be! We were given an extra P-Day this week so it has given me some extra time to blog.
We hope this blog finds you all well and happy. As the Thanksgiving season is upon us, we are thankful for our good health and strength, that gives us this opportunity to serve this mission in Missouri. It has strengthen our Testimony of our Savior Jesus Christ and his appointed Prophet, Joseph Smith, who served him regardless of all the persecution that he went through. We are all blessed because of our Pioneer Ancestors that stayed strong in this true gospel that was restored. We love and miss you all.
